JX RANCH JX Ranch is a 7,000-acre working cattle ranch, located in eastern part of New Mexico, close to the Texas Panhandle. We run 400 steers during the summer, plus a herd of Corriente cows and calves, plus bulls, year-round. We sell roping cattle in the spring, and also sell natural grass-fed beef on an individual basis. During the summer months, from April till October, we take in a limited number of guests coming for a working cattle ranch vacation. We take a maximum of four guests at a time, and we require that you have some prior riding experience. Our horses are gentle ranch horses, but they are not "dude" horses, and we don't ride nose to tail. We saddle up in the morning, ride anywhere from three to five hours, to check cattle or move them to new pastures. In the afternoons, we tend to have other ranch chores to do, such as putting out salt and mineral for the cattle, fixing or building fences etc., and guests are welcome to lend a hand if they want. For detailed information on what to expect while visiting the JX Ranch, and to see all our previous guests' comments and lots of pictures, please visit our website www.jxranch.com. Happy trails and we hope to see you here at the JX Ranch for a truly unique ranch experience! Tom and Mimi Sidwell |
